  1. Sam-
As you start to prepare for the upcoming week at WAR, I want you to remember a quote that is near and dear to me “Everything you want is on the other side of fear” ….although it may feel scary going to a week long adventure, know that this time on the trail will provide experiences that will continue to shape you throughout your life.. May god watch over you, comfort any anxiety you may be feeling & walk with you on your journey this week. We are cheering you on!

  2. Hi Sam

My name is Sue and I am your prayer partner for your experience at Remembrance Ranch. I will be at breakfast tomorrow morning and I hope to see your there. I am glad that you decided to come this year to the Wilderness Adventure Ranch. You will meet new friends, and have many challenges and adventures. God will be there with you helping you to make good decisions and watching over you and keeping you safe. I will pray for you each morning and each night to have the strength to meet your challenges. You are also at camp to have fun, and you will. Remember that all things are possible with God.

  3. Dear Sam,
Saturday’s the big day. Although I can’t relate to exactly how you are feeling, I can tell you as a parent of a teen that once attended Remembrance Ranch, I was very nervous. I know your family must be feeling the same emotions. We have been praying that both you and your family would feel peace and comfort as you step into this experience. May you connect with the trail leads, with the other teens, and most importantly we pray that you open your heart to the experience and that GOD speaks to you. Your family will be strong for you, please know that we will be there for you as well.

  4. Sam, we will be praying for you this week. You can do anything with God at your side. We can not wait to see you successfully do the zip lines. You got this.

  5. Good Morning Sam

Today is a good day for a great day!

It is really foggy out this morning and I was thinking about how just like we can’t see thru the fog; we don’t know what today will be like. But, I do know that today is a good day for a great day! I am thinking about you and praying for you as you use your own abilities to be the best that you can be.

  6. Sam,
We are praying for you and your new friends, that you would continue to overcome fears, and push on, with Jesus in your heart and walking with you. We are so proud of you!
    Love,
    Mom/Dad

  7. Sam,
Awesome job on the rock climbing wall & way to conquer any hesitations that were holding you back! Reading that really made me smile… We continue to learn new things about ourselves and others every day (no matter what our age) & today I learned a lot around fear and how it tends to cripple us from living out god’s plan for us. Give all your worries to god. He will take care of them. Continue being strong !

  8. Sam…i am so glad you are at RR. i look forward to getting to know you and look forward to our time of sharing over the next months. i hope you will make good notes in your jounal and share them when we get together. when we first met, you mentioned how you like to lead and help other kids, i hope you have an opportunity to demonstrate that this week…lead in a way that shows others how God is leading you. have a God time this week.

  9. Hi Sam,

I haven’t met you but I am friends with leader Kevin from church. May God bless your time at RR and reveal His love for you in a special way. Have fun!

  10. Sam,
Proud of you for taking part in this! My life has God, Stacey, Jesse, Julia, and my school kids as the priorities in my life, and in that order. Make God 1st and everything else falls into place:).

  12. Good morning buddy! I hope that you are having a great time.. Learning about who you are, how you can grow, as a person, brother, son, and first and foremost as a soldier for Jesus! May your heart and mind be open to Gods plan, unity with the leaders and other boys, and to change. We love and miss you, and are so thankful for you and this opportunity.
    Love,
    Mom/Dad!

  13. Thinking of you Sam –
Always pray to have eyes that see the best
A heart that forgives the worst
A mind that forgives the bad
And a Soul that never loses faith.

  14. Sam,
It sounds like you are having a ton of fun! Knowing that god is there to hear me when I am struggling & giving those struggles over to him brings me peace… So I am praying for you that god provides you comfort with anything that you may be struggling with & that you find peace knowing that you are a child of god. Stay strong, stay positive! See you today at the horseshow!

  15. Sam,
We hope that your time with your Horse has been incredible, and you were able to bond with him/her. I pray that you would continue Gods work, and hoping that you are being a leader that we know you can be. We are so proud of you, and miss you like crazy. Enjoy your last night before heading to Manistee, we will be praying for health, good weather, safety and most importantly Gods word to reach ALL of your hearts..

  16. Sam,
God has created each and every one of us with a specific purpose in life and blessed each of us with unique gifts to fulfill that purpose. We all have a choice to follow God’s will or our own in life. He never promises his way will be easy, but he does promise us eternal life and true freedom when we deny ourselves and follow him. God is calling out to YOU Sam and I pray you draw ever closer to him during your adventure at RR!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
    Jeremiah 29:11

  17. Wow Sam as a prayer partner and a supporter of the Ranch I feel really lucky to pray for you. Not only are you a Notre Dame fan (GO IRISH!), you are a really good kid with good instincts as a learner and leader. My family enjoyed watching your progress at the horse show, I don’t think most people realize how hard it is to get a horse to do what you want it to do, when you want it done. You demonstrated that in just a few short days you can accomplish so much. I pray that GOD continues to give you strength to not only listen and learn at camp, but to help show others the way. I also pray that GOD is watching over your family and providing them with the love, comfort, and support as I am sure they miss you very much. Love the Terpstra…and Go Irish (but don’t tell your mom because I heard she likes that Ann Arbor team!)

    1. Someone lied to you Sue.. Go IRISH!! I raised my son the way God has intended.. With Irish every Saturday. (This will make him laugh). ☘❤️

  18. Hey Sam –

You don’t know me but I wanted to drop a note to just say that I’m praying for you this week. Our good friend Kevin is one of your leaders this week and my big brother Dave is another one of your leaders.

People like me, who love our friend Kevin and my brother Dave know that our God is a God of HUGE things – in fact – things that you might think are impossible. I pray that you see His power and might and feel His unconditional love. I hope and pray that you’ll open your heart to the God of the universe this week. The Savior of the world made you uniquely in His image and loves you just as you are!!

Sam – you’re on an adventure of a lifetime this week and with God on your side, there’s nothing stopping you!!

  19. I just wanted to take a moment and thanks ALL of the prayer warriors that are sending messages to our son Sam.. He really is an incredible young man, who has faced many challenges by 12yrs old, that many adults never do. But he is a fighter, he is resiliant, and with GOD by his side, he can conquer anything! So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to pray for him!

    Mom/Dad

  20. Sam, it was really neat at the Horse show last night. You share a name with my 4 year old son Sam who was there too. He thought you were awesome because you had the same name! He kept talking about the big Sam with the Horse! You’ve got a fan! I’m sure you have other little guys around you that look up to you. Keep being a leader with God’s help!

  21. Hi Sam
here is your thought for today –
Just because a situation is uncomfortable doesn’t mean its not where you’re supposed to be.
GOD uses difficulties to work in us. That’s when our character is developed.
HE won’t allow a difficulty unless he has a divine purpose for it.

  22. Hey buddy!
Man am I missing you like CRAZY!!! I’m glad you have made it safely to Manistee! I’m still praying daily for good weather/health/opportunity to hear/feel Gods love and message for you and ALL the boys! We love and miss you so much!!! Counting down the hours!!! Less than 48 now!!!
    😘❤️

  23. Hi Sam
Your time at camp is nearly over. I’m proud of the progress you have made this week. I pray for you each day. Even when you leave camp you will still have challenges in your life………………

    Remember:
    Always do the right thing.
Even if nobody is looking……………It’s called integrity.

You will never regret doing the right thing.

I hope the storms will go around you today and the sun will com out and shine on your face……….There’s something about sunshine that makes me feel good.
