  2. Hi Janelley!
I have been thinking about you a lot of over the past two weeks. I am awed by your bravery and perseverance. I hope that you finished up the school year strong and have been thinking about just what you want to get out of the next ten days while you are at camp. I am sorry I wasn’t able to be there for send-off. I was certainly thinking of you all, and was so glad that Michelle sent me a photo of you all in the van driving away! I can’t wait to hear all about what you have been learning and doing. I’ll be seeing you in five short days when we hit the trail!

  4. Morning!

Most of the time we think we don’t have enough time or enough skills to do what God has called us to do. We have to remember that God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called. He is not waiting for you to learn something new or become something you’re not already. God is looking for willing people that want to turn this world upside down for Him and his people. Take the time and ask yourself- is God calling me to do something that I have never done before? Think about people like David the shepherd boy, Mary and Joseph, Moses living in the desert, etc. There are so many examples in just the bible that show how God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

God is using YOU to do extraordinary things! You are so special!

  5. Good morning Janelly,
How was your first full day at camp? The pictures look incredible, and I have to admit, I am a little bit jealous about your time with your horses! What is your horse’s name? Was this your first time riding? Tell me about the climbing wall…. Recently I ran in a race with obstacles and I got super scared at the top of one of the climbing walls and wasn’t sure I would be able to get down. Clearly I survived, but I wasn’t sure I would! I am so proud of the work you are doing. Keep being brave.
I am headed off to take a short hike in order to practice up for Thursday.
    Have a wonderful day!
    ~Whitney

  6. Hi Janelly! Hope things are going great! It looks like they are. I’ll be joining you all Thursday for the hike. So cool that you are a junior leader. What a great experience. I’m excited to meet you! The hike is going to be the best! See you soon – Leah

  7. Hi Janelly!
I am so thankful for you and your ability to share your story and your struggles. We all have our weaknesses but most are not brave enough to share and then mentor and lead others. God uses our mistakes for great things!!! You are making a difference and I pray you continue to go forward and trust God that he is always present and will always give you what you need at just the right time. I am praying for you to continue to trust God and remember always you are his precious daughter and loved so very much!!!
    Love, Amy

  8. Hey there Janelly…
This is Gretchen Burk (Michelle’s good friend and neighbor). I was reading this devotion (below)today and thought of you specifically. Michelle thinks the world of you and your courage…and I just love that He brought you on this journey together. I’m really excited to hear about your adventure and totally trust that He’s doing a mighty work in you.
    DEVOTION:
I know heartbreak is hard. I’ve experienced some deep hurt in my life and I suspect you have as well.
But I’m learning that we must not resist the blessing of brokenness that tills the ground of our heart. Breaking up the unplowed ground of our heart will make it ready for new life, new growth, new maturity in us that can’t be found any other way.
Yes, this breaking of me has been the making of me. A new me. A stronger me. I believe it for myself, friend. I hope you’ll believe it in whatever you’re facing,

Here is a simple prayer you can lift up today in the midst of brokenness…

Father God, thank You for the way You tenderly minister to the shattered places in my heart. I’m so grateful You are able to use every heartbreak in my life for good. I am choosing to believe today that You are leading me to a place of strength and victory. And I’m asking You to remind me of the words You speak over me. You say I am chosen. You say I am cherished. You say I am Your child, holy and dearly loved. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
