  1. Hi, Kasen! My name is Karen and I have the privilege of being your prayer partner. I’m really looking forward to hearing about your Remembrance Ranch experiences and learning more from you about supporting your journey. I’m a grandparent with 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren- 1 girl and 3 boys. My husband and I have a camper and we do a lot of camping with our family. Our adult kids have struggled with ADHD since they were children and I want to give you hope that it won’t win if you stay strong. I will pray that God continues to give you that strength and know that He walks beside you. I hope you have a fantastic time next week at camp and I’m looking forward to checking in with you each day!

    1. Thanks I praying for your family and it’s cool to know there way more people with ADHD then I thought thanks for praying for me

  4. Hi Kasen,
My name is Dwayne Huff and I am praying for you every day! I have been a Ranch WAR leader in the past and that helps me visualize the awesome experiences you are having each day and the challenges you are overcoming. I know there will be many challenges this week and there will be obstacles to work through, but I am confident that God will help you and teach you new things about yourself and others as you go through the week. In a way, camp is like your life back home. Like camp, life is full of challenges, and each challenge whether at camp or back home is an opportunity to seek God’s help and grow into the man God made you to be. I know you have a lot to offer this week and I know that God will use this week to change you and stretch you. Remember Kasen, you are “fearfully and wonderfully created in God’s own image” and he has wonderful plans for your life! (PS – that phrase is found in the Bible in one of my favorite chapters, Psalm 139 verse 14. ) I’m praying you have an awesome day Kasen and can’t wait to hear about it!

  5. Kasen I recall a conversation in my car about how very happy you are to be goin back to the ranch . I asked you how much fun it was and you said it was the best time ever and you wanna keep goin back every year…moving up levels. I’m so glad you get to do this again. I love you n make this your best year there yet!!

Dad said “dont be biting them horses”.
We can’t wait to see you!
        Mom and Dad

  9. Hello Kasen. I met you when you were talking with Elijah. I’m Michelle his adopted aunt. Thank you for helping Elijah with his backpack and making him feel welcomed just as I’m sure you did with everyone else. Well you know a little about the fun that is planned so try to get some good sleep. Have a great night Kasen.

  10. Morning Kasen !
I am so proud of you reading through this and you are helping another young man feel comfortable. That’s the heart that will get to where you want to be in life .I hope your home sickness gets better .Have a blast ! Love you ! Gma- Lisa

  11. Hey Kasen,
I’m praying that you have an awesome day! I know there will be some challenges along the way today and I hope you remember that challenges can be opportunities to learn and grow as a person. I look forward to hearing about your day and all of the fun and challenging activities you participated in today.
    God bless you!

  12. Kasen,

You may not know me very well but I have been working with Remembrance Ranch for almost a year now. My name is Wendy Heath. I had the pleasure of joining the girls last week as a “weekend warrior”. I’m sure you know that is when the counselors drive up on Thursday and complete the hike with you. It was my first hike ever!!!!!!! It was hard but at the same time I loved my experience and would go back to do it all over again!!!!! I have read that you are homesick on your blog and being a returning camper this year I see already that God has some challenges in store for you. I challenge you Kasen to be open to what you can learn about yourself this week at camp and be open to all of the experiences, even if you have done them before………it is just like watching a movie or playing a video game more than 1x. You tend to see things and learn things you didn’t see the first time you experienced it. Something made you want to return to camp and I challenge you to focus on those positive things about came and see if God is speaking to you through your experiences. You got this Kasen!!!!!!!!! I challenge you to enjoy your week and remember it will be over before you know it!!!!!!! I am praying for you Kasen that you enjoy yourself and have FUN:)

  13. Hey, Kasen!

It looks like you have so many awesome friends and family supporting you through this week! What a really great blessing that is for you! I read you were feeling a bit homesick and you need to know that feeling that way is perfectly ok and normal. You get to feel that way; give yourself permission to feel the way you feel. You miss your family and friends and that is a very good thing. Focus on how many outstanding adventures you are having and the wonderful things you are learning about yourself this week that you can share with everyone when you’re back home. It will be amazing and you will be so proud of yourself! All of us are proud of you right now! Have fun and enjoy your experiences and we’ll keep the prayers and happy thoughts coming!

  14. Thank you for helping Elijah through his first camp experience. You are appreciated.
What an amazing time this must be making new friends. And how about that horse soooo lucky

  15. Hey Kase-o,
Haha- I will let Dad respond to your biting. Lol
Hes napping right now. I think that I need to do that too. I’m jealous you’re having way more fun than I am.
What horse do you have this time? What’s been your favorite part so far? How are you doing with being homesick? I’m sure you got this though! You will be home in no time. Then youd be wishing you were back at camp, like last year.

I will let you stop reading now, I suppose. I love and miss you!
    High five-

    1. My horse is Express My favorite part was horses and with being homesick I just talk with my roommates for a little bit then fall asleep
      I miss you to mom

  16. Hello Kasen. I see your camping trip has been filled with fun. Before you know it the end of the trip will be here😭 so try to fit in as much fun as you can. Have a great night Kasen.

  18. Good morning my favorite son ever,
I hope you’re still having a blast. Dont you go hiking tomorrow?at least this year your pack will be lighter.

We miss and love you! Keep having a blast!

  19. Hi Kasen,
I am so happy that you are at camp again this year. You are a true leader and have already demonstrated that many times, especially when you helped Elijah with his nervousness. Believe in yourself and focus on the positive. Have a wonderful time at camp. Sending you much love-
    Mrs. Karas

I don’t believe this alone. god believes it as well.

  22. Good morning!
    Something to get you thinking…..

Small steps in the right direction are better then big steps in the wrong direction. I was praying for you and our families and the awesome staff you are with, directly after I saw this. God speaks to us in many ways.

  23. Hi Kasen,
As you hit the trail today I am praying that you have a great experience hiking along the beautiful Manistee River! I pray that God gives you and your fellow campers and staff strength and patience and that he keeps you all safe. I pray that you continue to grow and learn as you help others along the way!
    God bless,

  26. How was the hiking trip? From Patty’s blog it sounds like you guys really enjoyed it and helped each other out. Great job and you should all be so proud! As you wrap up your last day, it’s exciting to be able to go home after being gone for a week. You now have so many stories to tell and meaningful experiences that will help you as head home. Well done, Kasen!!! You did it! 👏👏👏🙏🏽😀High Five!!!

  27. Congratulations! Kasen! On your great successes this past week! You have so many accomplishments to be proud of!!! We’ll keep praying on this end😀👏👏👏👏

  28. Hi Kasen!! Good to read in the Remembrance Ranch update that you are doing well with online learning. Congratulations! And well done!

I agree with you about the stress and struggles related to COVID-19. My parents live in an assisted living and I have not been able to visit with them since March. No hugs. No meeting out our house for family dinners. I’m glad they have stayed safe but I miss them terribly.

I will pray for you and your family and all of us struggling with this horrible virus. I will also pray for encouragement as you consider the role of a junior leader at the Ranch. It’s such a rewarding and meaningful opportunity and we pray it becomes a reality for you!

    Blessings! Karen

  29. Thank you i appreciate you praying for me,And i dont know how it would feel not being able to see my parents and sorry you cant.
and i also hope i can become a jounir leader it would be an awsome oppertonite.

  30. Hi Kasen,

A lot of things are different this year, but it’s good to know that even with all of the changes and uncertainty God is in control and loves us like crazy! I hope you’re doing well and I’m praying that you continue to put your trust in Jesus and follow him everyday.

    Take care,

  32. Hey Kasen,
It sounds like you’re doing pretty well despite all of the changes with on-line school and spending more time at home. Did you make it out to the Haunted Trail at Patrick’s house? I was able to be there and help out 3 of the 4 weekends and had a lot of fun (I was in the creepy old man mask). Keep making good choices and know that God always has your back. I’ll keep praying for you and your family. I know God has awesome things planned for your life. Keep trusting and following him!
    Take care,

  33. Hi Kasen! Sorry to hear about the transition back to online school and more time at home away from friends but pray that you will continue to do well. Transitions are tough sometimes but, in this case, COVID is worse. I pray that the end of this terrible pandemic is coming soon!

Hope you are still working toward junior leader. Prayers for continued success at school and at the Ranch!

  34. Hi Karen,
I’m praying for you and your family and hope you’re doing well. I know it can be frustrating with how different life is right now and being stuck at home so much, but I know God will get us through these difficult times if we keep trusting him. I pray that God gives you patience with your family and helps you focus on your school work, and you have a fantastic Christmas.

  35. Sorry Kasen! Autocorrect changed your name to “Karen” on my previous post and I didn’t see it until it was already posted.

  36. Hi, Kasen!

Wonderful to hear of your pursuit of music and art. I used to play the guitar and piano many years ago and enjoyed it very much. I pray that you find a guitar and some art classes very soon.

I also pray for your relationship with your sister and that the two of you can respect each other’s space and boundaries. It’s tough when you are sharing space during this virus period but it’s important to do to find compromise. I will pray for courage and strength for both of you to find common ground.

Peace to you and your family this blessed holiday season!

  37. Hi Kasen! So awesome that you are doing fantastic in school…Praise God! Keep up your great work and commitment to your learning.

I will continue to pray for your success as well as keep your mom in prayer as she continues her journey to quit smoking. It is so hard to do so we’ll keep that encouragement coming. Also, I pray that your sister finds her peace. Perhaps she might be able to engage with Remembrance Ranch if she doesn’t already. But regardless, praying that she finds her peace in God’s magnificient plan for her and your family!
